The flag of Panama represents a field divided into four equal rectangles. The top right rectangle is colored red, the bottom left rectangle is colored blue. The other two rectangles are white. In the middle of the white rectangles there are five-pointed stars colored the same as the rectangles located in the same vertical axis. It is said that the stars and quarters symbolize the rival political parties, while the white symbolizes the peaceful regime of their cooperation.
