On the flag of Brazil, there is a horizontal yellow rhombus placed on the green background that represents the House of Braganza (Portuguese origin dynasty) of Pedro I, the first Emperor of Brazil. In the rhombus, there is a depiction of a starry blue sky enclosed in a circle. The flag also includes the national motto of Brazil written on a curved band crossing the “sky circle”.
