The flag of Canada consists of three vertical bands: two red bands on the sides and one white band in the middle which is twice as wide as the red ones so the proportion is: 1:2:1. On the white band, there is an eleven-pointed red maple leaf which is a Canadian national symbol. Sometimes, unofficially, the flag is simply called Maple Leaf.
