The national flag of the Gambia represents a type of horizontal triband with red, blue, and green bands. The outstanding feature of this flag resides in white borders surrounding the middle blue band. The blue color symbolizes the Gambia River, red color stands for the sun and green color means the forest and the agricultural goods. The flag was adopted in 1965.
