Guyana is located in the north of South America. It is notable that that Guyana is sometimes regarded as part of the Caribbean region owning to its close ties with the Caribbean Community. The flag of Guyana, also called “The Golden Arrowhead”, consists of a black-edged red isosceles triangle and a larger white-edged golden triangle overlapped by the red one. The bases of both triangles lie on the left side of the flag so the greater part of the triangles’ areas lies in the hoist. The triangles are pointed towards the fly. The field of the flag is colored green.
