Kiribati is an island country located in Micronesia in the central Pacific Ocean. The flag of Kiribati represents a depiction of a sunrise in the ocean. It includes blue and white waves altering each other in the lower half of the flag, a golden sun, a golden frigatebird hovering over it and a red sky. The flag was adopted in 1979.
