The flag of Nauru consists of a blue field, a horizontal narrow yellow stripe, crossing the flag in its centre, and a 12-pointed white star placed under the stripe in the hoist-side. The points of the star symbolize the indigenous tribes of Nauru. The flag was adopted in 1968.
