The Netherlands is the main part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands which consists of a European country (the Netherlands) with several insular territories in the Caribbean. The flag of the Netherlands represents a horizontal triband with bands of the following colors: red, white and blue (from top to bottom). The bands are of equal width. The flag of the Netherlands was adopted in 1937.
