Tuvalu is an island country in Polynesia in the Pacific Ocean. The total land area of Tuvalu equals to 10 square miles. The flag of Tuvalu is a Blue Ensign with a light blue field, the Union Jack in the canton and nine golden five-pointed stars placed in the fly-side. The stars symbolize the nine islands that compose Tuvalu. The flag of Tuvalu was adopted in 1997.
